The Gubenator's latest scheme to get my beloved state of California out of the money pit has some points that I don't agree with. Some of his proposed taxes will come from what I consider necessities of life; repairs of anything. But I favor taxing the frivolous; golf, amusement and sporting events.
While I'd like to see those that have more be taxed more, it is hard to differentiate between repairs for the sole stove in a family of eight and the third stove in the upstairs bathroom of a playboy. So that leaves entertainment taxes.
During these economy downturns, moneies are sparse, and those that have the spare bucks for golfing, going to 'niners games, or visiting million-flags-over-anywhere parks have, have...well, the state should bolster their coffers from their excesses.

New blog title...
I have been wanting to try another blog for quite some time. I have friends who use this site. So I decided to try it.
But it turns out I already had a blog set up from WAY back in 2006 titled Life without Clots. But for the life of me, I can't figure out my login for it. It was long enough ago, that a Google account was not required (though I had one, I think). After I figure out my old login, it should kick me to transfer to an existing account, but by the time I figure it out, a couple of more years should have gone by.
So, welcome to Editing without Clots. I like editing anyway, and like the premise my original one at a newspaper had, there are mental clots as well as physical clots. In fact, it may be more apropos that this one is about my continued life after a stroke, but with emphasis on professional growth. And opinions, welcome or not. And not being fearful of upsetting someone who could pull the plug. And being able to use four-letter words, or unacceptable topics (not that I am prone to anymore, but as a retired sailor, I have the ability-grin).
Face it, this one has the potential for a wider following. I promise that I will write more.
Stay tuned for more later.
